Day 8: Favorite Quote
Here is the full scene from the season finale part 1, because it truly is one of the most powerful moments in Avatar in my opinion:

Zuko: Well that sweet and innocent kid grew up to be a monster, and the worst father in the history of fathers.
Aang: But he’s still a human being.
Zuko: You’re going to defend him?
Aang: No, I agree with you. Firelord Ozai is a horrible person. And the world will probably be better off with out him. But there’s gotta be another way.
Zuko: Like what?
Aang: I don’t know. Maybe we can make some big pots of glue and then we can use glue to stick his arms and legs together so he can’t bend anymore!
Zuko: Yeah and then you can show him all his baby pictures and all those happy memories would make him good again!
Aang: Do you really think that would work?
Zuko: No!
Aang: This goes against everything I learn from the monks. I can’t just go around wiping people out that I don’t like.
Sokka: Sure you can! You’re the avatar! If it’s in the name of keeping balance, I’m pretty sure the universe will forgive you!
Aang: This isn’t a joke Sokka! None of you understand the position I’m in!
Katara: Aang! We do understand, it’s just-
Aang: Just what, Katara? What?
Katara: We’re just trying to help!
Aang: Then when you figure out a way for me to beat the Firelord with out taking his life, I’d love to hear it!

I actually wrote an essay about this scene in my Religion in Pop Culture class in College. This was such a powerful scene because you realize that with all the teachings Aang went through, you finally understood that murder was not an option.
This scene was incredible. I don’t really know how I can explain it any other way. This decision that Aang needed to make was terrifying. How could he murder someone? Sure, he’s the Avatar, but there had to be another way. He just couldn’t side with Justice being done by taking someone’s life.
I was in shock this whole scene when it aired. The tension was perfect, but scary at the same time.
After the scene, you then remember that this is a kid’s show. Sure, the creators knew that its extremely popular with teens and adults, but this scene really made you question how they were going to defeat Ozai.
So that’s my favorite quote.

Day 7: Favorite Animal
My favorite animal is the flying lemur, specifically, Momo.
In the new series coming up, apparently there is a new species of Flying Lemur and I am very excited.
I like lemurs okay.

Day 6: Favorite Element Nation
Honestly, I really do love all the nations. I’d have to say my least favorite would be the water tribe, only because I don’t like the cold hahaha.
But if I had to choose one, it was really difficult between the Fire Nation or the Air Nomad nation.
I went with the Air nation because my element is air, and I love LOVE temples. The fact that the Air Nomads all lived in temples in hard to reach places just amazed me. If I were in the Avatar world, I would definitely want to visit each one and explore them, and research them. They are so great.

Day 5: Favorite Outfit
Sokka’s outfit during the Day of Black Sun. It was an epic warriors outfit, plus he had his new Space sword. It’s definitely my favorite.

Favorite Character (s)
Since I love practically the whole entire cast, I narrowed it down to my top favorites.
Aang: Aang is amazing, and he’s the character I have most similarities with. He is written beautifully and I love his story.
Katara: She is wonderful. I don’t care what people will say. She is definitely a great character.
Sokka: Sokka is a great warrior and I’m so proud of him for growing so much through the story. He is a great person.
Toph: Toph is the most strongest character on this show, in my opinion. She is simply incredible.
Zuko: Zuko had the most character development, and his character journey was as great as Aang’s. I’m thrilled with the ending and am so proud of him for becoming who he is.
Iroh: Iroh is another strong character. I am completely drawn to wisdom and he is the wisest character I know.
Jet: Jet was awesome in the first season, and I got completely attached. But he ended up being a bad guy. It wasn’t until the second season where we found that he really does have good in him. And I found myself crying over his death.
Admiral Zhao: I know he was only in the first season, but he was one of the Best villains in the entire show. I found myself drawn to his complexity and evilness. It was the first time I really fell in love with a villain, when I mostly root for the good guys.
Momo and Appa: Come on. They have to be on this list no matter what.
Of course, I really do love the whole entire cast. Each character was written magnificently. Azula, Mai, Ty Lee, Ozai, King Bumi, The whole White Lotus gang in general, Avatar Roku, everyone. They were all great. Really.

Avatar Challenge: Day 2
Least favorite episode
The Great Divide. The only thing I like about this episode is the very end story that Aang tells.
I think the man reason why I don’t like this episode is because the Great Divide was inspired by the Grand Canyon. I live in Arizona and I’ve never been to the Grand Canyon, but I do want to go someday. But just the fact that it’s based on it and there’s a whole episode for it, I didn’t really like it. They even made fun of it in The Ember Island players.
But I haven’t actually skipped it whenever I rewatch the series. It sort of tells a good lesson, but if you are an adult, you already know this lesson.

This is my number one favorite for many reason.
1. Aang and Zuko bonding time :)
2. Mayan inspiration for the architecture and Sun Warriors
3. DRAGONS
4. Indiana Jones theme YES
5. Finding the truth in what fire is all about
6. Zuko finding his new goal in life, and that is to teach Aang fire bending and help the Avatar save the world. And Aang is finally able to fire bend with out being scared of hurting someone.
7. The beautiful animation
